The whole case file, one system.
From the first intake link to the decision, Attest keeps the paperwork, the deadlines, and the AI's work — cited and attorney-approved — in one place.

01Cases
Twelve case types, one seven-stage lifecycle.
Every matter moves intake → evidence → preparation → filed → RFE → decision, with saved views your whole firm shares. Inside each case: the intake checklist, every document, a page-cited evidence map against the case type's actual legal criteria, and the RFE workspace.

Gap02Intake forms
The questionnaire your firm actually asks.
Every case type ships with its own questionnaire and document checklist, so a new matter starts with the right questions already on it. Edit any of them into your firm's own version — reorder sections, drop what you never ask, add what you always do — and reuse it on every case of that type. The client answers in their own language.

03Inbox
Drop anything on it.
A government notice, a client's passport, a photo of a letter — Attest reads it natively (scans included), identifies what it is, and matches it to the right case by receipt numbers, A-numbers, and names. Follow-ups queue as proposals: docket the deadline, message the client, advance the stage. Nothing touches a case until you file it and tick the actions to run.

04Assistant
An associate that shows its work — and asks before acting.
Ask about any case in a slide-out panel: the assistant reads the file, answers with page citations, and drafts what you need. Attach a document or dictate by voice. When it wants to act — docket a deadline, create a task, post a comment — the action is staged until you confirm it. Every suggestion and approval is logged.
Skills are how you stop repeating yourself: write down how your firm wants something done — how you weigh evidence against criteria, how a bundle should look before filing — give it a name, attach reference files, and the assistant follows it on every case. Two ship built in, and a firm can rewrite those or add its own.

05Workflows
Automate the follow-through, not the judgment.
Build the routine once: when a case reaches a stage, draft the cover letter, fill the PDF form, bundle the exhibits. Blocks include case data, AI drafting, sandboxed code, PDF form-fill, and bundling — and you can test any block on a real case before enabling the workflow. Every run is recorded step by step.
A stage isn’t the only trigger. A workflow can run on a schedule— daily, weekly, or a cron expression, which shows you the next three times it would actually fire while you’re still typing it — or be triggered by email: it gets its own address, and anything written to it starts a run with the attachments staged. When the message can’t be matched to a case, it lands in the inbox for review instead of guessing. Firm reference data — wage levels, consulate lists, filing fees — lives in Tables, which blocks can read.

06Research
Country-conditions research that arrives with its sources.
Ask in plain language and get answers grounded in cited web sources. Build reports from reusable templates, attach them to cases, and share finalized templates and reports across firms. Reports stay drafts until you mark them final — export unlocks only then.
The research is also dated. A search engine ranks by relevance, not by recency, so the best-looking answer to “conditions in X” is routinely a well-cited report from years ago — written up in the present tense by a model nobody told to care. Sources inside a three-year window are preferred, and where nothing newer exists the report has to say so, so you can see that the gap is in the record rather than in the research. Law, court decisions, and evidence of past events are exempt: an asylum claim rests on a penal code and on what happened, and neither of those expires.

Conditions for journalists in Nicaragua since 2018?
Independent outlets have faced systematic closure; at least 54 journalists left the country in 2022 alone, and press-freedom monitors rank it among the region’s most restrictive.

DraftFinal · exportable07USCIS updates
The agency changed something. You find out here.
Every announcement USCIS publishes, read once and tagged: which forms it names, which case types it touches, and — the tag that matters — whether a firm would have to do anything differently. Filter to just those, or search the archive. An announcement is never turned into work on its own: adding a follow-up to your list is a click, and it arrives with the link to the notice attached.
The same watch runs over your form library. Attest reads each form’s edition date off the agency’s own page and tells you when the blank you file is behind the one USCIS publishes. Only a definite mismatch warns: if the page can’t be read, the check says so rather than guessing, because a warning pointing the wrong way is worse than none. A new edition is never adopted silently either — its fields are mapped by hand before auto-fill will touch it, and a case prepared against the older blank keeps rendering the blank it was filled against.

08Client portal
Your client's whole job, from their phone.
Send one private link — no account, no password. The questionnaire renders in your client's language (auto-translated, with your original always available to you), documents upload straight into the case file, and messages stay in one thread. Links expire and can be revoked at any time; internal case jargon stays internal.

09E-signature
Get the engagement letter signed without a second subscription.
Send your own documents — engagement letters, fee agreements, consents, releases — to the client for signature. They sign in the same translated portal they already use, and the signed copy files itself back onto the case with the audit trail attached. Built in, not integrated: no per-envelope charge, and no third party standing between you and your client's file.
The forms that can never be e-signed are tracked too. USCIS wants a handwritten mark, so G-28 and every filed form take the print → sign → upload path — and that path is a request like any other, on the case from the moment you send it instead of living in somebody’s email. Wet-ink is chosen per request and never inferred. The document goes out untouched: the pages that come back are the pages that get filed, so nothing of ours is printed on them — no stamp, no certificate. Your client returns a scan through the portal, and that scan is the signed document.

Assign work to anyone in the firm and it shows up on their list the next time they log in — new items marked as new since they last looked. @mention a colleague in a case comment and that lands there too. 12Billing
The fee, the schedule, and what's actually been paid.
Define how your firm charges for an H-1B once — a flat fee, or installments tied to filing milestones — and apply that plan from any case's billing tab. The case keeps its own snapshot, so editing the plan later never rewrites a matter you already agreed. Payments are recorded as they arrive, and the tab shows what's outstanding.
To be exact about what this is: money moves outside Attest — through whatever you already use to take payment. This is the record of the fee and the ledger against it, not a checkout. Client fees are their own permission, so a role without it never sees the tab.
