What do you mean by 'AI-native'?
Built around the AI instead of bolting it on: intake reads itself into the case file, evidence maps itself to your legal criteria, and drafts, deadlines, and RFE responses come out of that same file — page-cited and waiting for attorney approval. And it still covers the whole practice: cases, intake, documents, deadlines, client messaging, research, automation, and the audit trail — one login instead of five subscriptions glued together with email forwarding.
What about USCIS forms and phone calls?
USCIS form auto-fill from the case file ships today — every field is reviewed before anything is final, and Attest checks each blank you hold against the edition USCIS currently publishes, so an out-of-date form surfaces before a filing does. The agency’s announcements come into the product too, tagged by the forms and case types they touch. Submitting the finished filing to USCIS, and built-in client calling with consent-aware recording and transcripts, are still in development and are marked “coming soon” wherever they appear on this site.
How do I know the AI isn't making things up?
You don’t have to take its word for it. Factual claims in Attest’s analyses carry citations to a specific page of a specific document — hover to preview the passage, click to open it. Anything without a citation is presented as unsourced, and nothing becomes final without attorney approval.
What is the AI allowed to do on its own?
Nothing. Anything the assistant or the inbox wants to do — docket a deadline, message a client, advance a stage, post a comment — is staged as a proposal and runs only after you confirm it. Every suggestion and every approval is recorded in the activity log.
Is my clients' data confidential?
Yes. Case files are encrypted in transit and at rest, every record is scoped to your firm, and your files are never used to train AI models. You can request deletion of a client’s data at any time.
Do my clients need accounts?
No. Clients get a private, expiring link that opens their questionnaire — in their language — plus document upload and messaging, all from a phone. You can revoke a link at any time.
Does Attest give legal advice?
No. Attest is a drafting and organization tool for licensed attorneys. The attorney reviews, edits, and remains solely responsible for all advice and filings.
Do I have to move my existing cases over?
No. Start with a single case — even just one RFE. There’s nothing to import and nothing to migrate.
Can my paralegal use it?
Yes. Paralegals can run intake, manage documents, and prepare drafts while working under attorney supervision — approvals stay with the attorney. Everyone gets a role, and a role decides what they can reach: five come built in, and a firm can define its own when those don’t fit. Client fees, for instance, are their own permission — a role without it doesn’t see the billing tab at all.
